It makes a difference for him, if the advanced miner gets a 3 times, 5 times or 10 times higher yield, because all miners regardless if nub or 'pro' have to sell their stuff and it's the demand that sets the price. It also makes a difference, if a nub needs 3, 6 or 12 months skill training to have a competitive char. It also make a difference, if we're talking about specialized alts or about someone with a single char, who trains a lot of things, not just mining.
Same problem with combat. More and more skills, player income is adjusted to this new skills, beginners will have it more difficult right from the beginning and it will need more and more time to train a competetive 'hi-level' char with each year.
In contrast to that, I think new content like the 'blockade runner indis' is more nub friendly, because a nub doesn't need it. He might need it, when he is advanced and then it's the time to skill it.
A skill for higher mining yield is something that a beginner needs to be competitive, but he won't get it for many months. So he has to suffer the disadvantage for a long time and is forced to skill this stuff as fast as possible to make good profit. Don't like it.
Well, IMHO CCP can't go on with this skill treadmill forever. Some day the nubs will say, that the training times to get a competive char, who's rich and/or powerfull are just rediculous. People don't play to be the little guy, they want to be a hero. They accept to play the underdog for some months, but not for years. They want to mess with the best as fast as possible. At least that's why I play MMORPGs. If I start a game, my main goal is to 'pwn' either economical or in pvp with friends. If I can't reach that, then it should at least be my fault and not be because of how the system works. And I think in months, not in many years, because it's a game and not RL.
P.S.: It's my last post regarding the skill treadmill. First of all I don't wanna bore you, 2nd this alt is deleted in a few hours.
